Were you aware our church building was in the building process at this time 150 years ago? In November 2021 we will celebrate the 150th Anniversary of the building. At that time The West Church of the Free Church of Scotland built the church which subsequently in 1965 with its present congregation became St. Matthew’s Church, Perth. It is appropriate that we use this time to write up the history of St. Matthew’s.

Presently we have the first 100 years well-documented but we have a team now working on the last 50 years. Andrew Tait, Marjorie Clark and David Sawyer are pooling their talents to write up the history. We are at a starting point. How do we celebrate? We have invited the then-Moderator of the Church of Scotland to lead us in a special service of worship in November 2021 but what else should we do?

Ceilidh, social evening, gala day, charitable project, guest preachers? If you have any ideas, please let us have them and help make this an event worthy of St. Matthew’s the iconic landmark of Perth.
